Basic overview
The Indians have wood gathering upgrades and wood trickle cards, which makes trade posts slightly more affordable early on. The native cards available to the Indians aren’t as good as the ones available to the Chinese, but there is one in particular which improves the hit points and speed of native units, which could be very useful in some cases.

Although the Cree building technology won’t help with lowering wonder costs, in combination with the Mughal Architecture card and the Portuguese Consulate you can make other buildings far cheaper to build. This could allow you to invest that wood into either Cree Trackers, more villagers, or more buildings depending on what your strategy is. |

The Shaolin can help the Indians gather wood - which is a slower gathering resource than others - as well as providing Rattan Shields and increasing the hand attack of your Sepoys. If you use the Agra Fort to go up to age 2, using a Shaolin trade post will give you access to units capable of defeating ranged infantry after your Sowar shipment and possibly Tiger Claw shipments are gone. |

Not that the Indians need more elephants; that said, the Sufi are a great asset to an Indian player late in the game. Not only do they improve the Indian economy, but they also grant them a large amount of goats which can be tasked to sacred fields. Just watch the shipments roll in after you've done this; it is particularly deadly with the infinite Urumi age 4 shipment. |
